Iran movie 'Disappearance' to compete at the Atlanta filmfest in the US.

Iranian movie 'Disappearance' has been scheduled to go on screen at the 42nd edition of the Atlanta Film Festival in the US.

Directed by Ali Asgari and co-produced by Iran and Qatar, the full-length feature is to represent Iran at the American film event.

“Sara and Hamed wander into the emergency department of a hospital, seeking medical aid after realising that Sara is hurt. However, they are bound by a secret which cannot be discovered under any circumstances by the adults who are handling their situation,” a summary of the film reads.

Founded in 1977, the Atlanta Film Festival is one of the largest and longest-running festivals in the US, welcoming an audience of nearly 25,000 to discover hundreds of new independent, international, animated, documentary, and short films, selected from more than 3,000 submissions from all over the world.

The Atlanta Film Festival screenings often include in-person dialog with filmmakers, providing audiences, artists and industry professionals with meaningful opportunities to network, interact and engage.

The 2018 edition of the event is slated for April 13-22, 2018.
